The prestigious Women of the Year Luncheon and Awards 2019, is delighted to be teaming up with the exceptionally talented trio of 2019 MasterChef finalists, Irini Tzortzoglou, Delia-Maria Asser and Jilly McCord, to produce a bespoke, three course menu of culinary delights for 550 guests.
Irini Tzortzoglou, winner of MasterChef 2019 says, “This year’s MasterChef touched and inspired many viewers because it featured three women who decided to further challenge themselves and give space to their passions. I, personally feel humbled and thrilled to have been invited to play a small part in such a prestigious event, marking and honouring the work and achievements of women.”
Runners-up Jilly McCord and Delia-Maria Asser, who joined Irini in the show’s first ever all-female final, expressed personal delight about their involvement in this year’s celebration.
“I am absolutely thrilled and honoured to be asked to be part of a celebration of women across the UK. It was not until we were standing in the MasterChef kitchen after making the final that it struck me that it was the first ever all female final. Delia, Irini and I are very different people, spanning different ages, ethnicities, geographic locations, but these differences did not prevent us from becoming great friends who only sought to support one another throughout our shared experience. The opportunity to cook together again for the Women of the Year Awards is our genuine pleasure and my hope is that the day is full of joy and a true celebration of everything women can achieve when they work together,” said Jilly.
Delia added, “I feel incredibly humbled to have been asked to be involved with this year’s Women of the Year Awards. This year’s MasterChef final was the first all-female final – it was such a joy to have been part of it and to have cooked alongside two brilliant women who I am now able to call wonderful friends. It feels truly incredible to have had our triumphs recognised and to have been invited to be part of something so positive and inspirational.”
