Not many young mothers would leave a successful accounting career during a recession to help others realise their potential, or step into prisons to support people to change the course of their lives – but Avril Grant did. Founder and CEO of AVision for Empowerment CIC, Avril built a Black-led social enterprise tackling disadvantage, inequality and disproportionality.
Since 2012, AVision has supported over 8,500 people across communities, including 36+ prisons nationally, reducing reoffending and helping save taxpayers millions in crime-related costs. A TEDx speaker, Avril is passionate about creating an inspirational world where everyone can succeed, regardless of background or past.
