The 37th annual Women of the Year Luncheon & Awards took place on Friday, 25th October 2019, to a sell-out audience of almost 600 guests.

Keynote Speaker

British actress and women’s champion, Sally Lindsay delivered this year’s keynote address with her brilliant fixture of humour and good old Mancunian grit.

Powerful entertainment

Guest were treated to a powerful opening performance of #ThisIsMe by 2018 X-Factor contestants, LMA Choir who later went on to perform an emotional rendition of Bridge over Troubled Water in dedication to the women of Grenfell.

The 2019 Women of the Year Luncheon and Awards was proud to team up with the talented trio of MasterChef 2019 Finalists, Irini Tzortzoglou, Jilly McCord and Delia-Marie Asser to bring you a bespoke menu drawing inspiration from their unique heritage.

Dedicated to the Women of the Royal Air Force in their Centenary year. Our guests were treated to a performance from the formidable D-Day Darlings who assisted in presenting the award.

Woman with Edge
Award

Fiona Allan, Chief Executive and Artistic Director at the Birmingham Hippodrome was presented with the Jaguar “Woman with Edge” Award, for defying convention and showing edge in a transformational way within her business life.

Special Recognition
Award

The final accolade was our Special Recognition
Award, which was presented by Sally Lindsay on the centenary of 1918 suffrage act and was dedicated to the Women of the Suffragette Movement.

Business Woman of the Year 2019

Jennie Johnson MBE scooped the prestigious Business Woman of the Year Award having founded childcare company, Kids Allowed opening its first centre in 2005 and training academy in 2012.

Freeths Woman with Edge 2019

The award was presented to Debbie Francis, Managing Director of Direct Rail Services who has demonstrated the courage to challenge and make a real difference in a male-dominated industry and has consistently strived to develop the skills and attitudes of others.
