Vitalise is a national charity providing essential services for disabled people, visually impaired people, and carers.
Vitalise offers disabled people the essential but all too rare opportunity to take a break. For many disabled people, finding suitable respite care can be difficult and costly, with limited options. Vitalise’s mission is to provide affordable breaks, with genuine freedom and choice. Carers also benefit from Vitalise’s services. Our breaks give carers the opportunity to take much-needed time off from the 24 hours a day, 365 days a year duty of caring for a loved one.
Our Centres around the country provide short breaks with 24-hour care-on-call and personal support in a relaxed, friendly environment. We organise over 8,000 weeks of breaks each year and cater for over 150 different disabilities. Guests can choose from over 500 different activities and dozens of special theme weeks throughout the year.
Vitalise also provides day services, designed to promote independence and boost self-confidence, and organises activity and adventure holidays in the UK and overseas for visually impaired people, accompanied by sighted guides.
It is good for the carer to be cared for, for a change. You go home better able to cope after the rest. When we are there we feel almost like an ordinary couple again – all the stresses and strains are briefly removed and we return relaxed and with a lots of wonderful memories to recall. When I asked Don what was the biggest reward from our time away, he said ‘Seeing the old Beryl back, relaxed, happy and laughing’. Thank you for making all this possible.

£30 from every ticket sold for this event will go directly to Vitalise, so our anticipated guest list of 750 women will enable the charity to provide a staggering 64 week-long breaks for disabled people and carers.
