Each year in October, the Women of the Year Luncheon and Awards is held at the Metropole Hilton Hotel at the NEC, Birmingham. In 2009, the event took place on Friday 2nd October, which was the event’s 27th anniversary. The lunch was a lively occasion attended by up to 800 women from many different backgrounds. As well as an excellent lunch, our guests enjoyed a chance to do some early Christmas shopping from a range of upmarket ‘stalls’, a drinks reception, an exciting fashion show presented by Selfridges, live jazz, the Awards Ceremony and a couple of lively and interesting speakers. All proceeds from the Lunch are donated directly to Vitalise. Over the last 27 years, the Lunch has raised just over £500,000.

There are extensive car parks at the Hilton, but we recommend arriving early if you want a space near the hotel entrance. The Hilton is offering the reduced rate of £5 for parking – take your ticket at the barrier on the way in, and present this with your payment at the ticket desk outside The King’s Suite (10.30am - 12.30pm), or at the desk in the Hotel Foyer (on your way out, 2.30pm - 4.30pm). You can pay by cash or credit card, and you will be given an exit ticket. To avoid a bottleneck, we strongly recommend that you pay for your ticket in the morning. Please be advised that the car parks fills up on a first come first served basis - if you use the NEC overflow car park, NEC charges may apply. There will be a shuttle bus between 10.30am and 11.30am running from the NEC East One car park (for any overflow parking) to the Metropole.
First Aid – Red Cross first aiders will be present throughout the duration of the event.
